“These Streets” – Geraint Rhys

Commissioned by The National Library of Wales to create a piece using their digital sound archives, Geraint created ‘These Streets’. Through combining interview recordings of friends of Dylan Thomas describing their childhood growing up with him in Swansea, with archival footage and newly composed music and visuals, Geraint has created a mesmerising film and sound map of the places that were so familiar to Dylan. Also a native of Swansea, Geraint has used his familiarity of the streets to create a modern interpretation of Dylan’s life which offers new insight in the places which moulded Dylan’s imagination.
