The Coalface is made from photographic “monuments” of Welsh coalminers. The men were photographed in a portable photogrammetry (3-d) studio. The soundscape is made from interview snippets and natural sounds. It was composed by soundscape-artist John Rea. The installation was presented at Diffusion 2019. The project was made possible by Arts Council Wales and Ffotogallery.
