Kula bags very graciously allowed me to choose which bag I’d like to review from their website. I went back & forth between the nineties look of the whitworth backpack & the size of the Salford but ultimate practicality won and I chose the Salford because it would be the best size for a changing bag.
When my Kula bag first arrived in the post I was dubious, it looked, felt & acted like paper and I live in a very rainy Wales.
The day it arrived I was treating it delicately, I loved the way it looked but I was convinced that putting it down and getting it marked would be the end of it. After a couple of days of frantically shoving it under the buggy’s rain cover I started to get a lil more confident and quickly realised it was pretty damn durable.
By the end of the week it had been on hikes, dropped in muddy puddles, dragged across the floor and it still looks pristine.
In terms of size the Salford has been perfect as a changing bag, it comfortably fits
Changing Matt
Spare outfit (x3)
Tupperware of snacks
Baby wipes
Loadsa nappies
Big sudacrem tub
Arth’s water bottle
My water bottle
My Purse
My lipstick
My keys
There’s still plenty of room for when I inevitably buy things on the go too. In terms of size the only thing I can think to compare it to is a slightly roomier Fjällräven Kanken backpack that holds its shape better.
Sustainability is a huge thing for me when choosing to buy new so the fact this bag is completely cruelty free & sustainable is fab, the material does hold the creases but ultimately it adds to the whole look of the products.
And honestly- the wildest thing is that these bags can be washed (what?!) it makes life a lot easier knowing something can be chucked in the washing machine when needs be, especially with the inevitability of mess that comes with a child.
I’m a total convert to these weird & wonderful bags and I’m already planning on going back and buying the whitworth for our summer holiday this year.
I’ve been using the bag for just over a week now & will continue to update on the bags durability over on my Instagram as time goes on.
