How can the arts and creativity support mental wellbeing in Wales?

Join artists, health practitioners, policymakers, and academics to explore the new frontier in health and wellbeing – the arts – at Wales’ first arts and health conference, ‘Weave’.

Weave is taking place on 4 October at the Lysaght Institute in Newport.

Tickets are free but numbers are limited. Register here

Key speakers at the one-day event include:

• Lynne Neagle, Deputy Minister of Mental Health and Wellbeing

• Derek Walker, the Wellbeing and Future Generations Commissioner

• Nina Ruddle, Head of Public Policy Engagement at Wrexham Glyndŵr University;

• Peter Carr, Executive Director of Therapies and Health Science at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

There will also be a series of inspiring breakout sessions by practitioners from across the country spotlighting creative health and wellbeing projects, such as those supporting veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder and Welsh language creative workshops for people affected by addiction.

There will also be a networking space to meet and connect with colleagues from across Wales, as well as some indoor and outdoor creative activities to support your own wellbeing on the day.

Weave is organised by the Wales Arts, Health and Wellbeing Network, with funding by the Arts Council of Wales and the Baring Foundation.
