Casia Wiliam was commissioned to pen this poem and an accompanying bilingual resource to raise awareness of Climate Change as part of her role as Bardd Plant Cymru (Welsh-language Children’s Laureate). The poem, ‘Help’ was developed as part of #EarthHour, which took place Saturday 24 March 2018 at 8.30pm. There were multiple events throughout Wales to raise awareness of climate change, and the detrimental effect our carbon footprint has on the wider environment and its inhabitants throughout the world.
The Bardd Plant Cymru project ensures that children in Wales have the opportunity to experiment with Welsh literature. Through workshops, performances and activities, the project introduces literature to children in an energetic, dynamic and exciting way. The project promotes creativity, communication skills and self-expression through the love of literature.
