Try Some Colour

My practice explores developing a process of simple marks and gestures which are performed in repetitive motions to create a complex experience both visually and physically for the viewer. I work in a very physical manner and aim to highlight the performative nature involved in creating my body of work. What is presented is the consequence of these actions.

Through my work I aim to represent the truth in human creation, bringing light to the exact actions used whilst indicating to how pace and movement may affect the marks made. Motivated by a fascination in Minimalism, Op Art and textile pattern pieces I am forming ways of subtly exposing a phenomenological experience through actions, depth and space. This allows for a relationship to form between myself as the artist, the artwork, and those engaging with my practice alluding to the conscious and the subconscious concurrently.

Repetition forces change, both physically and mentally, this ideology is something which allows me to remain constantly moving forward in my practice and evolve my growing body of work.
