A Continent of Remembrance is a video poem by Ifor ap Glyn, the National Poet of Wales, to remember those lost during the First World War across the European continent. Ifor ap Glyn has intertwined poems by Gerrit Engelke of Germany, Albert-Paul Granier of France and August van Cauwelaert of Flanders to illustrate the grief of continental Europe and the waste and tragedy of war.
The video poem was commissioned by Literature Wales as part of our Holy Glimmers of Goodbyes event in February 2019, with funds from Welsh Government’s Cymru’n Cofio Wales Remembers 1914-1918 First World War Centenary Programme.
