Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival

Since 2007, Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival has shared outstanding film in Wales and beyond. Home to the world’s largest LGBT+ short film prize, the annual festival in Cardiff celebrates the best in queer film from around the globe. 

Iris Prize also runs events throughout the year across the UK, with mini festivals, screenings and outreach projects, including working with schools across Wales, supporting pupils to create their own LGBT+ short films.

Kieran Evans

Kieran Evans is an acclaimed Welsh film-maker who comes from the city of St Davids tucked away on the most western point of Wales. A strong sense of storytelling linked with an instinctive photographic eye for landscape, urban locations and nature runs through much of his work as seen in his documentaries The Outer Edges, Finisterre, Vashti Bunyan: From Here To Before, and most recently films for the BBC and Sky Arts; Dexys: Nowhere Is Home and David Gilmour: A Wider Horizon, Toots and The Maytals: From The Roots.

Kieran has also directed music videos, shorts and live visuals for a diverse range of acclaimed artists including the Manics, John Grant, Hot Chip, Saint Etienne, Spiritualized, Kylie Minogue, David Gray, Karl Hyde, Underworld, Django Django and Edwyn Collins amongst many others.

Kieran has just directed a new promo for one of the most hotly tipped bands of 2020 Working Mens Club alongside completing a new feature doc film about Madness for Sky Arts.

WAI : Junko Mori

Junko Mori is a Japanese artist and metalworker born in Yokohama, and who now lives in North Wales.
She is best known for her hand-forged metal sculptures that are both organic and minimalist.
This short film was made to be shown at Oita Prefectural Art Museum (OPAM), Japan as part of an exhibition and event celebrating the continued connection between Wales and Japan one year on from the hive of activity around the Rugby World Cup.
