The Rock & The Raven with storyteller Deb Winter & fiddle player Holly Robinson

Theatre

Storyteller Deb Winter has won the hearts of audiences across Wales & the UK with her energetic & diverse shows, from her powerful tale of addiction in ‘The Red Shoes’ through to her quirky, humorous ‘Refried Fairy Tales’ (Grimm’s classic stories re-imagined for the modern princess). She tells beautifully-crafted, compelling stories, often working with intuitive, improvising musicians to create an artistic whole, a weaving of words and music.

Deb has been described as having ‘a winning mixture of warmth, high energy, irrepressible humour and a certain something that quivers between originality and eccentricity’. Despite leaning towards laughter, she’s not afraid to sound the depths of human nature and she tells the stories of our human tragedies with genuine compassion and empathy.

Fiddle player Holly Robinson has nearly three decades of performing experience, having played in folk groups and dance bands since she was a teenager. She has been a regular on the Pembrokeshire music scene since moving to the county in 2010.

Line-ups she has featured in include ceilidh and twmpath bands Estron, Off the Cuff and Triskellion as well as folk groups such as Quarto, Amazonne, and Hounds of the Sea. In recent years she has regularly played in duos with singer Bob Fish and also singer-songwriter and harpist Jess Ward.
A former journalist, she turned to music full time in 2016 and has a particular interest in how music can help health and well-being.

She in the final stages of completing a three-year Music Therapy Masters degree, and hopes to qualify as a music therapist this summer (Summer 2021).
