Taith The Gentle Good Tour

Announcing the second tour from PYST and Mentrau Iaith’s new gig circuit

At the beginning of this year, PYST (a Welsh distribution and promotion company) and Mentrau Iaith Cymunedol announced the intention to partner in order to launch a regular touring circuit to bring live Welsh music to more rural areas, and areas experiencing a lack of live gigs as of late. In April, with support by the Arts Council of Wales’ Night Out programme, the first tour took place with HMS Morris and special guests performing in ten areas across Wales.

Today we’re delighted to announce details of the second tour, which will see The Gentle Good performing in ten other areas this October, with a different support in each gig. This tour will once again be supported by Night Out.

Upon announcing the tour, Alun Llwyd, PYST’s Chief Executive, says: “It’s wonderful to see the second tour expand upon the success of the first, and venturing to more areas and venues so that engagement with Welsh music continues to grow.”

Tomos Owen added on behalf of Mentrau Iaith: “It was great to see Welsh language live music visiting a variety of different areas across Wales in the first tour. With the second tour visiting new areas, we’re looking forward to creating more opportunities for people to enjoy Welsh language culture across the country.”

Gareth Bonello (The Gentle Good) adds: “I’m overjoyed by this special experience to share my music across the country. Live music is an essential part of the social patchwork that sustains our communities and I’m very excited to perform to new audiences in different areas as usual.”

Ahead of the tour, The Gentle Good will release his new album ‘Galargan’ through Bubblewrap Collective on September 4th.
