Planet presents an evening at Y Cŵps! 30.05.26

Literature

Planet: the Welsh Internationalist magazine went into dormancy in 2024, but for one night it will stir awake down a microphone.

Enjoy a stimulating evening of Welsh music, poetry and panel discussion on politics, art, literature, history and more in the wake of what looks to be a ground-breaking, nerve-wracking election.

Music from Georgia Ruth Williams

Poetry reading with John Barnie

Panel discussion with Charlotte Williams, Jamie Harris, Adam Johannes and Lewis Wright.

Plus the weekend will mark 30 years since the Queen had to cut short her visit to Aberystwyth due to protests, when the Cŵps was the party HQ for the demonstration…

Both events are a perfect hook for discussing many of Planet‘s core themes since 1970, such as Welshness/Britishness, the legacies of Empire & the Welsh radical tradition.

All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to the performers and panellists.
