Enillydd/Winner – Arty Jen Jo: ‘Emerging From The Raging Seas’

Audio Description

This video, was done in our garden, on the grass, in a rectangle shape, However, I recorded, the introduction, in my Study at home, using the stand alone lamp as a spot light. Behind me there is a wooden door, and my head rest which I use, to control, the powered wheelchair. I have got brown hair with grey streaks. I am wearing my reading glasses and I got a light blue, polo-neck on, and a light blue, fleece on top. In the film, itself, I have got an electric, blue top, on, with grey walking trousers. On my feet, I am wearing blue and black trainers. I am lying on the lawn and my husband, who is with me, is wearing a light green, dusty jumper, with grey, corduroy trousers., and he has got bare feet. He takes my glasses off, since they were coming off anyway. We make some dance moves to a piece of background music called Blackbird, which I taught myself to play. He lies beside me and then he sits behind me, to get me sitting up, to move me backwards and forwards, and side to side, with my arms open wide. There are hedges and bushes around us. He lies me down again, and I turn onto my left side, while I, pull some grass up, with my right hand. He gives me a kiss on the cheek, then he leaves me on my left side, facing the camera, as the video ends.

The video is Created in our back garden on our grass to show people I can move my body just as freely being out of my wheelchair. I think it gives a sense of ignite and resume because since Covid-19 I have found out that I can do more things via using a video as well as a camera. Also, it has given me more confidence to work with film. This is why I thought I would do something different this year.
