Beth sy’n digwydd pan ‘dych chi’n cofrestru gyda Egin?

Are you part of an organisation, charity or community group looking for some extra support in getting your ideas off the ground?

Egin is a programme run by DTA Wales which supports communities to take their first steps to tackle climate change and live more sustainably.

The main focus of Egin is about working to support people who might not normally feel represented or included in conversations around climate and sustainability, yet may be the most impacted by climate change.

We are especially keen to hear from groups who have no previous track record of working on climate and sustainability, or who are not sure where to start

If your community group or organisation would like to find out more about receiving Peer Mentoring support from Egin, get in touch.

Review of the Year 2023

‘Tis the season for reflection… Time to look back on a busy, exciting and incredibly rewarding year for Inclusive Journalism Cymru

Bevan – From Capitalism to Community Wealth

Over centuries, wealth has been taken away from our communities. In the past, coal and slate – today, tourism and energy.

People in Blaenau Ffestiniog and the Cynon Valley area want to do things differently.

To keep the wealth we create
To share it in our communities
To support our languages and cultures.

This video documents our ‘learning journey’ of study visits to each place.

400 members!

On International Day of Disabled Persons, we are excited to celebrate reaching the milestone of 400 members✨

Thank you every one all of our members, and thank you to the partners who work with us to develop accessible opportunities that support and raise the profile of our members’ work.

We see art as a platform that can challenge negative perceptions of disabled people, highlight inequalities, and support socially progressive alternative futures.

We look forward to continuing to work with you all to the social model of disability, shifting the responsibility for access from the individual to wider society, institutions and infrastructures.

We believe disabled and deaf people are pivotal to the arts of the nation and we thank you all for working with us towards our vision of a creative and equal Cymru.

Members’ Blogs: How-to Guide

Yellow image with photo of hands typing on laptop next to a notebook

As an organisation dedicated to supporting journalists and writers, we are incredibly proud of our members’ blogs. This feature gives writers a paid platform from which to share their stories, and has been one of our key successes, with subjects ranging from social mobility to trans rights to disability in the workplace. Our contributors have had their work shared on social media and on our newsletters, with one blog post even being syndicated in a Portuguese publication! We also see them as a valuable resource for employers, funders and change-makers, acting as pointers towards creating a safer and fairer environment for journalists.

It is absolutely vital that people from marginalised backgrounds are heard – we urge you to add your voice to the conversation.

To make the process as clear and simple as possible, we’ve listed some guidelines below.

Cymuned ar-lein Egin | Egin Online Community

One of our goals is to build a community across Wales – grassroots, local groups connecting with each other to share their visions, ideas and lessons learnt.

As part of Egin, we are happy to introduce a new interactive, online community where groups, mentors, charities, NGOs and anybody interested in tackling climate change can join together to learn more about each other’s projects.

As part of the Egin Online Community, you can be inspired by finding out what else is happening around Wales, discuss problems and solutions with other community groups, and meet like-minded people in your area. The Egin Online Community will also let you to share your photos and videos, create events and invite others, find out what projects and organisations are happening around you or start new discussions around the topics you care about.

Even if you are not being supported by the Egin programme, you can still request to join the Egin Online Community and take part in discussions. Click here and click “Request to join” – you will be accepted if you are in or near Wales and your work or interests are aligned with climate change and sustainability. The Online Community is available in English and Welsh
