About Us

Am is a first-of-its-kind digital platform for discovering and celebrating Welsh arts and culture. Built to be open and welcoming to everyone, it started as a home for 75 creative organisations and has now grown to over 460 across Wales. AM exists to uplift creative voices from all backgrounds and in all languages, helping more people connect with the richness and diversity of Welsh culture – whether they’re artists, audiences, or just curious.

Our story

Launched in March 2020, Am is run by PYST Cyf and funded by Welsh Government through Creative Wales and Arts Council of Wales. It was and is the only digital platform solely dedicated to Welsh arts and culture.

A year of research led to launching a website and app that was originally home to 75 cultural organisations, spanning a variety of art forms. Am has grown quickly over five years, and by 2025 it is now home to over 480 cultural organisations and over 10,000 pieces of content.

Am has learned, adapted and responded to everything from Covid to arts sector budget cuts, but remains true to its original ethos of being a democratic space to share and promote cultural activity, without any element of ownership or exploitation.

Our vision

AM’s vision is to enable more people than ever to engage with the arts, which will create the foundations of a new inclusive Wales in which the arts are a driver of social, linguistic and economic prosperity in the future.

Our aims

  • Offer open and accessible entry to the arts for creators and consumers alike, on a community and a national level.
  • Generate sustainable, inclusive opportunities to empower creatives in Wales.
  • Collaborate to create new supportive networks.
  • Develop new audiences in order to widen engagement with the arts in Wales.
