Gŵyl 6 Music | 6 Music Festival

This week is particularly exciting for music in Wales as the BBC’s 6 Music Festival comes to the capital. Anyone listening to the station will have heard plenty about the festival in recent weeks, and some of you may have been lucky enough to snag tickets to see WORLDWIDE artists like Pixies, Little Simz, Self Esteem, Khruangbin, Bloc Party and even the Manics.

But for the rest of us who were too late, too unlucky or simply too lazy to pick up tickets, there are plenty of opportunities to watch live music around the city (and for a lot cheaper). I’ve got it all on Minty’s new map but here are some of our highlights.

Immersed

Immersed has teamed up with 6 Music to host 3 days of music during the week and by the time you read this message has already started with a day of music in Tramshed, including performances by Mace the Great, Minas, YASMINE & THE EUPHORIA, LEMFRECK and Mari Mathias. You can find the whole lineup here but we’re especially excited to attend Libertino’s stage at Cultvr Lab on Thursday, where bands like Breichiau Hir, Silent Forum, Club Fuzz, Sybs AND MORE will be playing. Grab tickets here.

Clwb Ifor Bach

To be honest, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t got tickets for the festival’s OFFICIAL events on the Saturday because Clwb Ifor Bach has created a lineup that includes some of Wales’ most exciting artists. It’s a free event on Saturday 2 April that will showcase bands like Ahgeebe, Los Blancos, Lightning, PIgeon Wigs, Mill Mill and Shlug.

Minty’s Map

Now here’s a man who knows how to cause a stir surrounding an announcement. After weeks of cryptic tweets, 👀👀👀emojis, and very emotional posts all over social media, Minty’s majestic map is here at the END, and to be fair, it’s really quite useful.

The guide lists all the festival’s events, including gigs at places like Porter’s, The Moon and Steam. So head over and have a look and see what catches your attention!
