N’famady Kouyaté is a young master musician from Guinea, based in the Wales. N’famady’s primary instrument is the balafon – a traditional wooden xylophone, sacred to West African culture. N’famady plays as a solo artist and with a full band as The Successors of the Mandingue –his arrangements are a fusion of Mandingue African and western European jazz, pop, and funk influences provided by a collective of musicians. In 2019/20 he supported Gruff Rhys on his Pang! album tour.
