What is the Young Promoters Network x Beacons Cymru Project?
Beacons Cymru is excited to announce the next phase of the Young Promoters Network (YPN). Founded in Rhondda Cynon Taf in 2010, the YPN has launched numerous careers in the music industry by developing key skills in sound engineering, event management, promotion, photography, and much more.
YPN aims to empower young people by providing them with a new skill-set, increasing their career opportunities within the live music sectors whilst boosting self-esteem and confidence. Now the project is taking strides to become Wales-wide, helping more young people access live music.
YPN is offering six young people, aged 18-25, from across Wales, the opportunity to develop their skills as promoters, access new industry networks and put on live music events.
What the project provides;
> Opportunities to develop new skills in live event management
> Funding to cover the costs of putting on an event
> Access to a new network of fellow promoters & other professionals.
> Professional training, mentorship, and one-to-one advice via the Association of Independent Promoters.
Overall providing the tools to begin their journeys as live music promoters, create new communities, and spotlight artists/bands within those communities.
YPN knows there is no substitute for first-hand experience to help young people achieve and we are proud to provide that experience!
