A new collection of poetry from Menna Elfyn with impressive illustrations by artist Meinir Mathias. A major theme that ties the work together is women; from women who are prominent today to historical figures, from Catrin Glyndŵr, Princess Gwenllïan, Ann Griffiths, Elaine Morgan, to members of her own family. There are poems of grief for the loss of a sister, and some memories of her mother and grandmother.
The volume also contains poems about the natural world, about the effect of the lockdown in 2020 in lyrical poems often with an element of humour attached to them. It is a book that crosses the boundaries between prose and poetry, including monologues, occasionally dialogic in tone.
