MEWNrhwng is a multi-disciplined exhibition that presses on the notion of transition, of a physical,
metaphorical or psychological state. It is a collaboration between artists Najia Bagi, Jenny Cashmore, Rebecca F Hardy, and Gemma Lowe.  It is the in-between moments of here or there, now or then, them or us, reflecting on the surroundings and connections of place, longing, grief and boundaries.

This multi-disciplinary exhibition will be the first of an exciting exhibition program from CARN for 2021 as we emerge from the pandemic. This exhibition will open at Oriel CARN from Saturday 8th May, with a virtual launch over CARN’s AM channel from 7pm. The launch will be a mix of readings and videos by the 4 artists.
CARN coordinator and curator Menna Thomas says of the exhibition: “It’s really nice to have the gallery open again and to be opened with a cohesive, contemporary and interactive show like this is a privilege especially after such a difficult year for all”.

“Art and artists really do have the power to change and enrich, so look forward to welcoming the group and these 4 interesting artists to CARN and seeing the public’s response to the work and the pleasure of being in a gallery again. ”

The exhibition will go onto Swansea’s elysium gallery following this exhibition.

This exhibition is funded by the Wales Arts Council
