M. Yesekaon –
Artist and producer M. Yesekaon has a budding passion to activate the Northern Welsh music scene and showcase music of black origin (MOBO) surrounding his coastal hometown in Conwy. With the recent 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop in mind, Calum aspires to sculpt a longevity and space for the genre and its artists by curating projects and live events with the support of Future Disrupter.
Gem Griffiths –
Meet Gem, a musician based in Carmarthen, West Wales and owner of record label Winger Records. Gem is dedicated to strengthening the Welsh music scene both in his hometown and in South Wales, with the vision to build artists a profile by reaching new audiences and putting on events with the support from Future Disrupter.
Guy Nicholas Challenger –
Not only is Guy the founder of label Sgeti Records, but he is also a musician and illustrator with a keen eye for quality. Guy has established himself producing merchandise for artists and supporting their releases, and aspires to strengthen his role in the Welsh music industry by project managing events for Welsh acts with the support from Future Disrupter.
Sophie Perkins –
Meet Sophie, co-owner of sustainable fashion brand Sage Against the Machine and visual artist based in Cardiff. Sustainability and community are integral to the multitude of projects that Sophie aspires to kick from the ground running. With the support from Future Disrupter, project managing a festival and a digital series that showcases Welsh artists alongside her business is next on her list.
Harvey Evans –
Newport based Opera Singer, Director and Stage Manager, Harvey Evans, is taking on the Opera world of music with the support from Future Disrupter. Not only does he want to manage his own start-up within the arts, but also wishes to embark on funding an R&D and to create a modern Opera project that reflects the local community.
Josh David-Read –
Meet Josh, a Swansea based festival organizer, project coordinator and musician performing under the name of ‘Mojo JNR’. Building on both a local and wider musical community is central to all his endeavors. With the support from Future Disrupter, Josh aspires to create a full-time career in the arts industry, managing events and starting an independent label that will positively impact live music and artists in Wales.
Niamh Bailey –
Niamh is an MC, Vocalist, DJ, Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter based in Cardiff. At the age of 18, she is seeking to become a full-time creative and build on the music industry in an ethical, accessible and fair-minded way. With the support from Future Disrupter, Niamh aspires to create connections and opportunities for young audiences, to start an events company, project and label in future.
Teresa Delfino –
Teresa is a journalist based in Cardiff, who aspires to voice the experiences and demands of the music community with the creation of a “Cult Classic” publication. With the support from Future Disrupter, she wants to generate a hub that regulates, celebrates and promotes music and arts in Wales that withstands the test of time.
Zuzana Kalinova –
Meet Zuzana, a radio studio co-ordinator from the Czech Republic based in Cardiff. With support from Future Disrupter, Zuzana aspires to start a charity project with two bases in Wales and one in Czech. Providing access to opportunities and building relationships between young musicians internationally, is at the heart of Zuzana’s endeavors on her journey to become a full-time creative.
Ellie Zalar –
Ellie is a visual artist based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, whose passion to work in the arts industry is fueled by supporting the working class. With support from Future Disrupter, Ellie aspires to project manage and put on events that provide access to and showcase marginalized artists, after hosting her first event under the name Artistic Alliance Cymru.
