INVITATION TO GŴYL GWENLLIAN WEEKEND
This is a warm invitation for you to a weekend of events at Gŵyl Gwenllian 2024 which is being held this year on the 7-9th June. Following the success of last year, we will again pay tribute to Princess Gwenllian by celebrating the creativity of women in the area and beyond. The festival will include discussions and talks with female artists and writers, art and well being workshops, events for children, walking tours and an art exhibition by local female artists.
The weekend’s activities will open with a pilgrimage from Ffynnon Gerlan to Ffynnon Llechid with Reverend Sara Roberts. On Saturday there will be activities for children at Canolfan Cefnfaes with Angie Roberts and Linda Brown and in the afternoon, there will be a walk led by the Carneddau Landscape Partnership. In the evening, there will be a Llymaid a Llên night at Y Fic with Sioned Erin Hughes – where there will be an opportunity to ask the author about her latest book ‘O’r Rhuddin’. Following the session with Erin, Casia Wiliam will lead an open mic session where the audience will have the opportunity to share their poems.
The Sunday will focus on art with Craft and Wellbeing activities in the morning and then the opening of an exhibition of the work of local female artists in the Canfolfan Cefnfaes in the afternoon led by Carn Cymunedol.
The whole weekend is organized by a small group which is a combination of Partneriaeth Ogwen staff and a group of volunteers and it builds on our commitment to commemorate Princess Gwenllian and also celebrate the culture and creativity of women in the area. We’d love to see you all supporting the events and thanks in advance for your support. Please feel free to share the information and the full programme can be found on www.partneriaethogwen.cymru
