Feral Fest: Call out for young musicians

Theatre

We are excited to announce an incredible opportunity for young musicians across Wales as part of our upcoming show, Feral Monster, a banging new musical about an unremarkable teenager. Feral Fest offers a platform for young musicians to learn about songwriting and music-making for theatre. This is your chance to be a part of an inclusive project that celebrates diversity, creativity, and community.

National Theatre Wales is fuelled by the pursuit of connection. We see theatre as a tool to bring people together to reflect, explore and be inspired by the stories of our nation. We want everyone in Wales to see themselves, their communities, their experiences and their futures imagined in the work we make.

Our groundbreaking engagement model, NTW TEAM, is at the heart of this. We believe everyone has a right to access arts and creativity. TEAM gets to know people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, right across the country to make that happen.

  • have a strong connection with Wales and Welsh identities, bringing a unique perspective to their music.

  • are available for three online workshops, an exclusive preview of Feral Monster and two performance nights from mid-December to 21 March to participate (detailed online)

  • can demonstrate experience of creating music

  • are comfortable with performing live.

What the young musicians will get:

  • learn from industry professionals, including the creative team behind Feral Monster.

  • gain invaluable experience in creating music for theatre.

  • perform in post-show gigs at a venue local to you during our Feral Monster tour

  • record your Feral Monster-inspired composition professionally, opening doors to radio stations and other platforms.

  • perform in one large Feral Fest at Pontio in Bangor, hosted by two cast members from the show and alongside all of your fellow Feral Fest musicians from across Wales.

  • be part of a new peer network of fellow Feral Fest musicians from across Wales.

  • be one of the first people to see Feral Monster in the dress rehearsal
  • gain links to other networks in your local areas that can further assist your future creative journey.
