Singer-songwriter Lisa Pedrick shares her raw emotions on new EP.

Be prepared to dance the night away to Lisa Pedrick’s latest track, Dihangfa Fwyn. Whether it be in your kitchen, on holiday or in the garden, Dihangfa Fwyn is a belter of a summer tune that’s certain to get you up on your feet dancing!

This is the latest track, and final to be released as a single, from the new EP of the same name. Numero Uno and Camddyfynnu have got us in the mood for the summer, and Dihangfa Fwyn now comes at us like a warm summer’s evening as we prepare for some well-deserved R&R with friends and family over the summer.

Commenting on the inspiration behind the track Lisa said; “We all need a person, or place, in our lives that can be your Sweet Escape, be that a friend, family, colleague or partner. Someone that doesn’t judge when you’re at your lowest. I very much wanted this to be an upbeat soundtrack for the summer with a positive message.

In addition to Dihangfa Fwyn, Numero Uno and Camddyfynnu will feature on the EP, with both recently featuring on Radio Cymru’s Playlist.

There’s no debating the fact that Lisa puts her voice, and songwriting talent, to good use to talk openly and honestly about life’s big issues. The personal narrative is also evident in the two ballads included on the EP,
Hir Yw Pob Aros and
Dal Yno Rhywle

Both songs reflect on difficult times in Lisa’s personal life, Hir Yw Pob Aros, through Lowri Carlisle’s emotional lyrics talks about the struggles of going through IVF treatment while Dal Yno Rhywle talks about Lisa’s struggles with post-natal depression.

Reflecting on her decision to discuss such matters so openly in her songs, Lisa said; “I think as a society we’re still scared of talking about these issues. They’re difficult things to talk about publicly but I feel strongly about opening up to help others experiencing similar problems. Lisa co-wrote Dal Yno Rhywle with her brother, Aled Pedrick, during the first lockdown in 2020. She went on to say; “I’m sure everyone remembers having to do everything over the phone and video calls during those early lockdown days. Aled was in London at the time and we composed the song over FaceTime. That’s the first time we’ve written a song together and we’re keen to work on more material in the future.”

From the tenderness of Hir Yw Pob Aros, and the anger in Camddyfynnu, the EP is full of raw emotion with Lisa sharing her thoughts in a frank and honest manner.
