What’s the timeline for presenting my film?
The application deadline is July 21, 2025. Am will respond to each application before the beginning of August 2025. The finished film must be presented to Am by October 31, 2025.
What will be the length of my film?
The film must be between 10-15 minutes in length.
What will be my film’s language?
Only Welsh language films will be eligible.
How does the payment work?
£350 will be payed to the successful filmmakers via invoice when they sign the contract, and the remaining £150 will be payed upon the film’s delivery.
How will the selection process work?
A panel comprising of Am staff and Board members will select four films from all applications. We’re eager to emphasise that we encourage applications from filmmakers from all levels of experience. and we will choose the successful applications on the basis of the film’s concept, and not the applicant’s experience.
Will I need to add subtitles to my film?
No – Am will add bilingual subtitles to your film following its delivery. Am will pay for the cost of this service.
How does the copyright work?
The rights of the film will rest with the filmmaker. By signing the contract, the filmmaker confirms that they have ensured that all the rights for every element of the film’s content have been secured for broadcast on Am and that no claim will be made by anyone else. The filmmaker will also commit to including any logos and credits provided by Am in their film.
How will my film be screened?
The film will be premiered digitally on Am as part of AmCam, our digital film festival. The film will live exclusively on Am for a month, and can then be shared by the filmmaker as they please. Am will also discuss (but not commit to) cinema screenings with the filmmaker.
How will my film be promoted?
The film will be promoted on Am’s homepage, in a social media campaign and via Am’s newsletter as part of the AmCam film festival. To this end, the filmmaker will need to require a 30 second clip and a high quality still of the film, as well as a photograph of themselves and a short biography. This is expected to be provided by the filmmaker within the £500. The filmmaker is also expected to commit when possible to participating in any promotional activity.

- Are you a freelance filmmaker?
- Briefly explain your background/experience (200 words).
- Explain your film’s concept (300 words).
