The Pengwern was opened in May 2011 as a community run pub, in the beginning it was run by volunteers mainly but by today most are waged who work there doing hospitality jobs and some admin jobs.
The Pengwern is an old coaching in dating from the 18th century and is situated in the village of Llan Ffestiniog. Llan as we know locally is very central, the village is on the A470. The pub is listen and we are waiting to hear from CADW about grants to do some improvements to the front
The premises itself today has a bar a beer garden, a restaurant and rooms for guests for a reasonable price. The aim of the place is to give people who come to the Pengwern a taste of Welshness, the welsh language is heard there most of the time
