“Our mission is to provide the people of Newport with a vibrant arts space that is open to all. We seek to delight and inspire our diverse community by promoting amazing music and art in all its forms. We are a creative hub operating at the heart of our city and will work tirelessly to connect existing and new audiences with outstanding live music, art and cinema.”
Le Public Space is a music and arts centre based in the heart of Newport City Centre and is also the largest independent space in the city for the creative arts.
The building and venue on High Street opened for business in 2017. Le Public Space is the name above the door but within its walls is the live music room, still universally known as Le Pub. The new premises built on the success of the previous Le Pub incarnation, a longstanding small music venue which successfully showcased live music and made lives better from 1992 to the day its doors closed and the new adventure began.
Le Public Space is community owned, and not for profit. There is a full programme of live music, arts, comedy and more and we serve delicious vegetarian and vegan food too. We’re currently developing plans to expand, so watch this space.
