Creu Cymru, in partnership with PYST Cyf (who are run Am digital platform), are running a pilot project to digitally share the outcomes of research and development (R&D) work by Welsh theatre companies and artists. Funded by Arts Council of Wales, this initiative will take place in May 2026, aiming to enhance visibility, connectivity, and dialogue around early-stage creative work.
Artists and companies who are taking part in R&D for productions between 1st February – 11th May can apply to take part in the pilot.
Participating artists and companies who have filmed their work will have their R&D hosted on the Am platform (www.ambobdim.cymru) for a limited period of between 6-10 days. There will be 4-6 opportunities to share work.
This digital window will make it more accessible for key decision-makers across Wales and beyond to engage with new work at its formative stage.
Following the online showcase, Creu Cymru will coordinate an online meeting between artists and theatre-makers, producers, and venue representatives. This session will give attendees a chance to ask any clarifying questions and allow the presenting artists an opportunity to further talk about their work. All this should foster a spirit of openness, enabling questions, feedback, and discussion.

Creu Cymru will invite programmers and producers from their membership and beyond. We also hope that artists and companies will use their own contacts and networks to promote the opportunity.
We hope the project will lead to greater visibility of early-stage work, especially for artists outside major urban centres. It should be a flexible, low-barrier access way for programmers and producers to engage with new ideas. We also hope it leads to a more transparent and supportive development ecosystem, where artists can receive feedback and build relationships at an earlier stage.
