How does the selection process work?
A panel from Gŵyl Tawe and Am will select five filmmakers from all applications. We encourage submissions from creators of all experience levels. Successful applicants will be chosen based on their ability to deliver within the project timeframe, their compatibility with the assigned band or artist, and the suitability of their location.
Due to the restricted schedule, filmmakers based in or near Swansea may be prioritised, as some shoots may arise at short notice and will require the filmmaker to be available in Swansea at short notice.
Copywrite / Screening / Promotion
1. How do the rights work?
The rights of the film will rest with the filmmaker. The filmmaker will commit to including any logos provided by Gŵyl Tawe and Menter Iaith Abertawe.
2. Sut fydd fy ffilm yn cael ei ddarlledu?
Each film will premiere digitally on Am, where it will be available exclusively for one week. After this exclusive period, filmmakers are free to share and distribute their films as they wish. The films will also feature as part of the Gŵyl Tawe lineup, where audiences can enjoy all the films together during a special cinema screening on the festival day.
3. How will my film be promoted?
The film will be promoted on the Am front page as part of an extended marketing campaign on social media, run in collaboration between Am, Menter Iaith Abertawe, and Gŵyl Tawe. For this purpose, the filmmaker will need to provide a short clip of the film and a high-quality still image. These materials are expected to be provided by the filmmaker within the project budget.
