“Wild Sounds of Wales – Pilot” is an innovative 3-minute virtual reality experience that combines wildlife sounds, 360-degree footage, and original music showcasing the biodiversity of Dinefwr National Nature Reserve. This pilot project aims to inspire hope in the face of climate anxiety and will be presented as a pop-up VR installation across various locations in Wales including Bryn Seiont Newydd Care Home.

Role Overview

We are seeking a bilingual (Welsh/English) Project Manager to support the delivery of this exciting and multifaceted arts project. This role is suitable for experienced professionals or ambitious early career individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in arts project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in managing budgets, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and delivering projects with environmental and well-being focuses.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage the project budget and timeline, ensuring all deliverables are met on schedule
  • Coordinate with multiple partner organisations, including WNO Orchestra, National Trust Cymru, Cadw, National Landscapes and others
  • Manage the mini-tour logistics across various locations in Wales
  • Implement and oversee the marketing and outreach strategy in collaboration with AM and other partners
  • Ensure the project maintains its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility
  • Provide administrative support and coordination for the creative and technical aspects of the project, working with the artists to facilitate their vision in narrative, VR development, music composition, and wildlife recording
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the project’s impact
  • Prepare progress reports for stakeholders and funders

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Welsh and English speaker
  • Budget management skills
  • Strong interest in arts or multimedia project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and partners
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion principles

 

Desirable Qualifications

 

  • Experience in managing complex arts or multimedia projects
  • Knowledge of environmental issues and well-being initiatives
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., Arts Management / Project Management)

 

Contract Details

 

  • Duration: 10 months (November 2024 – August 2025)
  • Hours: Part-time, flexible hours as required by project needs
  • Work Pattern: As-and-when basis, with workload varying throughout the project lifecycle
  • Location: Mainly remote
  • Salary: £4,000 for the duration of the project
