As well as an opportunity to connect and share practice, February’s network meeting will focus on race and inequalities in Arts and Health.

We will hear from Sam Rodger, Assistant Director, Policy and Strategy, NHS Race and Health Observatory about Mental Health Inequalities, along with some Wales-based artists and projects that are working to address these inequalities.

Sarah Asante Gregory, Hijinx Theatre will join us to introduce NAWA – Neurodiversity and Anti-Racism in Welsh Art – aimed at identifying the barriers faced by learning disabled and neurodivergent people from communities experiencing racism and Emily Reddy from the North Wales Multi Cultural Hub where Race Council Cymru are working closely North Wales RCC Regional lead Iolanda Banu Viegas and CLPW (Portuguese Language speaking Communities) and Omo Igedun (Wrexham African Community) and North Wales Minority Ethnic community leaders to form a North Wales Multicultural HUB. The Hub brings diverse communities together to tackle social isolation and support mental health and wellbeing.

Diversifying the sector, including ethnic diversity is a key priority for WAHWN in the coming years, and we can update you on the steps we are taking to grow the workforce in Arts and Health.
