What is the Young Promoters Network Project?
Beacons Cymru is excited to announce the return of the Young Promoters Network (YPN) project. Founded in Rhondda Cynon Taf in 2010, the YPN has launched numerous careers in the music industry by developing key skills in sound engineering, event management, promotion, photography, and much more.
YPN aims to empower young people by providing them with a new skill-set, increasing their career opportunities within the live music sectors whilst boosting self-esteem and confidence. The project became Wales wide in 2022 and supported 8 young people across Wales. It will return in 2023 with the aim of breaking down more barriers for young people across Wales in their local communities.
YPN will offer six young people, aged 18-25, from across Wales, the opportunity to develop their skills as promoters, access new industry networks and put on live music events.
What the project provides;
> Opportunity to develop new skills in live event management.
> Funding to cover the costs of putting on an event.
> Access to a new network of fellow promoters & other professionals.
> Professional training, mentorship and 1-2-1 advice for your own personal development.
> Access to a national showcase event in February 2024.
Overall providing the tools to begin their journeys as live music promoters, create new communities, and spotlight artists/bands within those communities.
YPN knows there is no substitute for first-hand experience to help young people achieve and we are proud to provide that experience!

We’re looking for 6 x exciting young promoters (18-25) from across Wales, who are keen to enhance their chances of pursuing a sustainable career in the live music sector.We are especially looking for people who want to make an impact in their local community.
We will provide:

Am I eligible?
You are eligible to apply for YPN if you are:
>18-25 years old
>Currently living in Wales
When does this take place?
The programme will take place between July 2023 – March 2024.
