Lochgoilhead Forever Trailer

In this wryly observed piece, the filmmaker and his cranky father finally head to the neglected home where his grandparents once lived. Like the chalet itself, the men’s relationship is long untended. Sorting through the dusty relics proves to be an emotional task.

Director – Liam Martin

Informed by his background in philosophy, Liam’s documentary films explore themes of identity, belonging and acceptance. ‘Kernow’, his first independent documentary is a 16 minute short taking an empathetic look at the current resurgence of interest in Cornish ethnicity, and was nominated for Best Single Documentary at the 2019 Celtic Media Festival. His second short documentary, ‘Lochgoilhead Forever’, derives wry humour and emotional resonance from personal experiences of messy family dynamics and unspoken grief.
